Carmen

“I was deeply impressed by the producing reflection and expression on the power of passion which calls up in its profile the entire psychological dynamism that takes away our self-possession or involves us in actions whose masters we cease really to be. In the play, the passion has a modern psychological interpretation. Both Carmen (Irina Rusu) and Jose (Igor Mitreanu), to whom this feeling renders their instincts violent and baffles their reason, materialize expressively on the scene all these emotions distinguishing the implications of love-passion, jealousy, as she tended to reduce the lovely person to a possessed object. She strikes against his freedom, and transparency. Correlative notions of philosophical nature which are derived from the play plot denote a deep vision realized with a particular artistic gift.
