A lost Letter

The Lost Letter from Chisinau has a theatrical style, not only a political one. Caragiale enters the circus life: a tent in the miniature which is specific to an intinerant circus surrounded by parrots pronouncing refrains from Caragiale’s comedy. “I do not want to know anything about Europe”, “we will fight against the Government” etc. Everything gives a hint of the massive manifestations from the spring of 2002, against the pro-russian government; just a reason of the play’s success at the time of the premiere. Even if the political tensions are destroyed, the circus created by Alexander Grecu accordingly to Caragiale’s work is worth seeing. Mircea Ghitulescu, writer theatre critic, Bucharest
